TransitLink has informed MOE and schools that all Sec 1 students are to continue using their Primary School's School Smart Card (SSC) for concessionary travel for another year as students would be issued with a new type of contactless smartcard in April/May 2009. More detailed information on the new smartcard will be announced by TransitLink and Ezlink later.
As the travel concession for the students' Primary School SSC will expire on 30 April 2008, all Sec 1 students attending MOE schools in 2008 must extend concession validity of their cards during the period of 17 March to 30 April 2008 to continue enjoying travel concession aboard buses and trains. The extended cards will be valid for use till 30 April 2009.
